“First Light Facts” — Starting your day in a positive way

First Light Facts

Staff and volunteers in the nonprofit world are some of the most positive people in the world. At VIS, we are reminded of this, every time we have a conversation with our members. There are many sources for that positive attitude, and now there’s one more. “First Light Facts” is a new VIS service to help our members — and anyone they know — “start the day in a positive way.”

Four days a week, at 6 a.m. Eastern time, we are sending an email that’s quick to read (under two minutes), about people who have done remarkable things (including volunteers); how things we use every day were invented; interesting things animals do; the simple answers to things you’ve wondered about for years or since last month; quick quizzes to see how much “Jeopardy”-grade mental lint you have accumulated over the years; and candy. (Yes, you’ll learn a lot about candy from “First Light Facts,” because we really love candy.)

“First Light Facts” is always factual (no opinion) and always positive (never controversial.) If that sounds like a great way to kick-start your day, give it a test run! You don’t have to be a VIS member to receive “First Light Facts.” Just go to www.firstlightfacts.com and give us your first name and email address, in the form at the bottom of the page. We’ll get you started this week. If you find it habit-forming, get your friends and family members into the habit, too. Send them a link to the Website, or forward any day’s email to them, or tell them to contact us at hello@firstlightfacts.com. We’ll help them start their day in a positive way, too.

Best wishes to you and all those you serve.

About VIS

Volunteers Insurance Service Association, Inc. (VIS) was established in 1972 for the purpose of providing insurance and risk management services for volunteer-based organizations. In addition to still providing these insurance services today on a nationwide scale, we have expanded to provide noninsurance resources for members to manage their risks and improve their operations. By transferring the volunteer risk exposure to our program, we can help you protect your organization. Contact us today at (800) 222-8920 for more information on our programs and services. Join now!
