First Light Facts — Starting Your Day In a Positive Way
VIS offers a member benefit that has nothing to do with insuring volunteers or managing the risks of volunteer engagement. Also, it’s absolutely free not just for VIS members, but for anyone who wants to “start the day in a positive way.” (And who doesn’t?”) It’s called First Light Facts.

Four mornings a week, you will get an email with a quick read (like, two minutes or less) about topics such as how great inventions happened, surprising things animals do, obscure heroes, the “second page of the resume” for well-known people, things you’ve wondered about but never checked out, the etymology of common words and phrases, quizzes on history or movie trivia, and candy. (Candy is one of our favorite topics, so it’s in the regular rotation!)
It’s all factual — no opinion, and nothing negative or controversial. (Who needs more negativity or controversy?!)
